Considering Adult Braces in Auckland? Costs, Options, & What to Expect

More adults than ever are choosing to improve their smiles with orthodontic treatment. Whether it’s for confidence, oral health, or long-term function, braces are no longer just for teenagers.

If you’re considering treatment, one of the first questions you’ll likely have is: how much does an orthodontist cost in Auckland? This guide breaks down everything you need to know.

What Types of Braces Are Available for Adults?

Adults in Auckland have several orthodontic treatment options, depending on their preferences, lifestyle, and budget.

1. Metal Braces

Traditional metal braces are the most common option. They are highly effective and suitable for complex cases.

2. Ceramic (Clear) Braces

These work like metal braces but use tooth-coloured brackets, making them less noticeable.

3. Invisalign (Clear Aligners)

A popular choice for adults, Invisalign uses removable clear aligners for a more discreet treatment experience.

How Much Do Braces Cost in Auckland?

The cost of orthodontic treatment in Auckland can vary widely depending on your individual case.

Typical price ranges are:

  • Metal braces: $6,000 – $9,000
  • Ceramic braces: $7,000 – $10,000
  • Invisalign: $7,000 – $10,000+

How an Orthodontist Can Help

An orthodontist is a dental specialist trained to diagnose, prevent, and treat alignment issues involving the teeth and jaws. With several treatment options to choose from, an orthodontist can guide you toward the one that best fits your lifestyle, goals, and budget.

Orthodontic treatment can help with:

  • Crooked or crowded teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Bite problems (overbite, underbite, crossbite)
  • Jaw alignment issues

Seeing a qualified orthodontist ensures you receive expert care tailored to your specific needs.

What Affects the Cost of an Orthodontist?

Several factors influence how much you’ll pay:

  • Complexity of your case
  • Length of treatment
  • Type of braces or aligners chosen
  • Technology used (e.g., digital scans)
  • Experience of the orthodontist

Because every smile is different, the most accurate way to get pricing is through a consultation.

Are There Payment Plans Available?

Yes, Shakespeare Orthodontics offers a range of flexible payment plans, including 12 monthly interest free. This allows many adults to start treatment sooner without needing to pay the full cost upfront.
